Hard Leaders

One of the first and best online dance music and DJ gear stores: Hard To Find Records. I’ve bought from them before, but their web site possibly promises more than it can actually deliver, because it lists so many records that are currently out of stock.

Unsign Of The Times

Another unsigned artist MP3 site: iuma.com. I haven’t checked it out yet, but will do in time. I can’t wait to get broadband at home. It will make downloading this stuff so much faster and easier.

Weebl and Bob

Music-related: go see Weebl and Bob, cos the anims use some funky fresh tunes from the likes of Mr. Scruff and Dmitri from Paris. The music adds so much to the overall vibe of the cartoons, it’s unreal. You heard it here first. Possibly. It’s gonna be huge, no doubt, but will probably blow over as soon as five-year-olds start going around singing "I love donkey, donkey don’t lie," "when come back, bring pie!" and other things that aren’t quite so fit to print ;) . Will it turn into another South Park? Tune in next week, er, sometime, to find out…

“Free” netname

I’ve mailed Freenetname to find out my username (!). It’s been so long since I used them for dialup that I’ve completely forgotten it. I may have it in a passwords file somewhere, but there are no guarantees. I just need to change the frame source url to point to this blog, and I’m laughing. Thing is, in order to have access to the FTP site, you need to be dialled up to FNN. I asked about whether the transfer-out charge had changed at all. We shall see.

I Want My MP3 – Part Deux

My current fave mp3 site is Epitonic. It doesn’t have the wide choice that illicit sites do, but some really nice gems amongst the manure. Or something. Case in point: Antibalas, makers of rather sublime afro-tinged samba, er, stuff. I’d never heard of them until I discovered them on Epitonic, but I’m more inclined to buy their music now. Small problem – there’s diddly squat in the music purchasing budget ;(

IKEA = budget x 2

It’s always the way with IKEA. You go there to buy one thing and then buy other stuff on the spur of the moment. We spent exactly twice what we’d intended to spend before we arrived, plus we got the car washed while we were shopping. There goes another £49.75.
